Do People Like Their Names?

Hello! This is my very first blog on here. Should i introduce my self? Absolutely yes, because this is my blog hehe. My name is Annisa Jasmin. My friends call me Jasmin, Jas, Min, Je, Nisa, Icha, and so many. I did hate my name especially my first name because i found it everywhere in this country. I've always met another Annisa in my life and i feel awkward whenever i have to introduce my name when i'm in the same class with this new Annisa. Because i need to look up for another nickname just to identify me with another Annisa. That's why i got so many nick names in life. I wondered why do my parents gave me Annisa Jasmin as my name.

Now, let me tell you the meaning of my name. Most people in my country probably have known the meaning of Annisa as a name because it's a common name in Indonesia. In Arabic, Annisa means woman. Jasmin itself in English means jasmine, a flower. So, if we unite it together it means wanita melati in Indonesian. When i was a baby, my parents and i lived in my grandmother's house. My grandma used to plant white jasmine in her yard and i think my parents just inspired by it. But, one day, my parents told me that they gave me that name because they want me to be a girl with a clear and pure heart as the representated of white color in jasmine flower. White color usually asscoiated with purity, innocence, sincerity, and so on.

If i became parents someday, i probably wouldn't give my daughter Annisa as her first name. Maybe i would give her Ruby as her first name and Arunika as her last name. Ruby means a red stone that usually use in jewelry. Arunika is from Sanskrit's language that means light of sunrise. And if he was a boy, there must be Bilal in his name. In islamic history, Bilal is Prophet Muhammad saw.'s best friends, he was a muezzin and one of the most loyal guy in islam. I sometimes cry when i read the story of Bilal's life because of his loyality to islam. Bilal, Ruby, and Arunika are my favorite names.

How about English name? Am i also impressed by English name? Yes, I am. For female i like Claire, Emma, and Skylar. For male i like Harry, Niall, and Paul. Most of English names that i like are from my favorite entertainer and my favorite character in English movies or novel.

It seems like i'm in love with other people's name. But it doesn't mean i want to change my name. I used to hate my first name, but i realize my name is like a dua that was given by my parents.  Eventhough there is always another Annisa in every class i'm in.

How about you? Do you like your name? 'Cause i do and i hope you do.

It's a book by John Gray. Talking about what makes women and men have differences. I find it interesting to be honest though i haven't finished the book. Let's talk about it a little! When women have to deal with their problems, they feel better to talk about their problems instead of finding solutions. Meanwhile men feel better to looking up for solutions. Most of them prefer to be silent than talking or sharing it to other people. I sometimes find it hard for myself to keep these problems. I feel like world needs to know about my problems. It's actually not a good way, i realized that. I'm trying to erase this habit. It's billion percent would be better to find a solut...
