Review: YouTube Videos in Teaching Listening pt. 2

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my another blog. Today i want to make a brief review of its literature review from the journal article i was reading. The title of my journal is YouTube Videos in Teaching Listening: The enefits in Experts’ Views.

First, let's talk about the concept of authentic video materials and Youtube. When we directly interact with the authentic material from language that we wanted to learn, it'll make us to be easier to learn that language. And Youtube is seen as one of the authentic materials. According to Chhabra (2012), Youtube videos can help learners to learn the aspect of language, such as writing, vocabulary, pronunciation, accents, and so on. Youtube is also free from charges to be use by everyone. However, there are some speakers who have unclear pronunciations and poor sounds and video quality that make those as the lack of using Youtube in language learning.

Since nowadays we are provided by technology stuff, such as Youtube. Teaching listening could be easier for the teachers and give the learners many opportunities. In traditional method of teaching listening it neglected the functional aspect and it emphasized learners to memorize and doing oral repetition. Nowadays, learners have been provided by real context and more suppotivie environment.

I think that's all for today. Thank you for visiting my blog and i hope this blog could be useful for those who read it. See you soon!
